During the recent Sulong Peace National Summit “Peace Companionship Towards Amplifying Best Practices in Peacebuilding, Human Rights, and Development,” a crucial conversation took place addressing the “Rights of Nature” amidst the backdrop of war and conflict.
PMPI Executive Director Ms Yolanda Esguerra shed light on the vital importance of protecting nature, even in the midst of times of war and conflict. She discussed how environmental degradation can aggravate conflicts and contribute to instability and by recognizing the Rights of Nature, it can help sustain peace.
