Job Ad: Communications Officer

General Scope of Work

The Communications Officer shall lead the network in devising communication and information strategies that would support the network’s advocacy on the thematic concerns and other special projects and efforts. Primarily, he shall ensure the amplification of PMPI position on issues and that relevant information and facts on the thematic concerns are gathered, verified, systematically archived, packaged, and developed for dissemination within the network, to the media, and the general public.

Specific Tasks:

  1. Ensures that a network communication plan is developed and updated regularly according to thematic priorities.
  2. Ensures information and data released are validated with concerned partners or government agencies with the help of the Policy and Research Officer.
  3. Ensures that local situation and experiences of partner communities are given appropriate media and public exposures at the national and international level.
  4. Drafts and circulates press/media releases, statements, and media advisory for network events; Monitors exposures of PMPI press releases or activities in quadri-media.
  5. Ensures that website and all social media pages are regularly updated with relevant information, data, collaterals and infographics; Oversees the work of the Visual and Graphic Artist and the Communication Staff.
  6. Develops content for the weekly Partnership Announcement, annual Partnership Magazine, and weekly episode of Green Faith.
  7. Ensures the establishment of and capacity building of the National Communications Team.
  8. Serves as resource person for partners’ communication trainings.
  9. Provides technical support to publication of research contracted by or done by the Policy and Research Officer.
  10. Prepares regular report to the Secretariat, CCC and NCC.
  11. Ensures technical support to the Project Officers in mounting mobilizations and other activities.
  12. Develops a system of generating data and information on the thematic concerns for the consumption of the network.
  13. Performs other tasks which may be required and delegated by the National Coordinator.

Job Requirements:

  1. Must be a Filipino citizen.
  2. A college graduate, preferably with a degree in Communication, Mass Communication, Development Communication, Journalism, Advertising, or a related field.
  3. Has relevant experience in email marketing platforms (e.g., Brevo, Mailchimp), communication management, lobbying, and advocacy work.
  4. Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proficient in computer applications and social media platforms.
  6. Able to work under pressure and adapt to a flexible work schedule.
  7. Capable of multitasking with minimal supervision.
  8. With the capacity to guide and inspire support staff for communication work.
Terms of Employment, Benefits & Compensation

Successful applicant shall undergo a 3- to 6-month probationary period. During the probationary stage, performance evaluation shall be conducted during the 3rd and 6th month. Passing the two evaluation processes is a requirement for full employment. Once applicant passed the probationary period, he/she shall have full employment status and shall enjoy full benefits as required and mandated by law.
