#PMPI Sphere Orientation 2023
PMPI in partnership with Disaster Risk Reduction Network Philippines (DRRNet) continued to engage and orient the local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with the Sphere standards in the second day interactive Sphere Orientation. Held at Norfil Foundation Inc. last July 25, it was attended by various PMPI cluster members and colleagues from other organizations.
The Sphere standards stand as a testament to the core belief in the inherent and inalienable rights of all individuals, guiding them towards a life of dignity. These rights are interconnected, with each aspect contributing to the fulfilment of the following – access to water and sanitation, food, shelter, or healthcare.
At its heart, Sphere is a voluntary initiative that unites diverse humanitarian agencies under a shared purpose: to elevate the quality of humanitarian aid and enhance the accountability of all actors involved to their constituencies, donors, and the affected populations. And by aligning their efforts with the Sphere standards, these agencies commit themselves to a comprehensive and unified approach, ensuring that the rights and needs of those in crisis are prioritized and met with utmost respect and empathy.
